Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Coinle website and Discord Activity (Coinle). Coinle is a private, non-commercial historic coin-identification game operated by the owner of the Coinle Discord application for one Discord server (the Coinle operator). By launching or using Coinle, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Coinle.

1. Eligibility and Discord

You must be permitted to use Discord under Discord's rules and the laws that apply to you. Your use of Discord remains governed by Discord's Terms of Service and other applicable Discord policies. Access to Coinle may be limited to members of the configured Discord server and may be withdrawn by its administrators.

2. What Coinle provides

Coinle presents historic British coins, or pre-1946 circulation coins from Europe and North America, and asks players to identify its authority or country of issue, denomination and approximate date over six progressively revealed attempts. Daily British and world challenges can also be revisited from their respective calendar archives. It is provided solely for private, educational and entertainment use.

Certain Discord accounts selected by the operator may also receive private random modes drawn from a finite reusable cache. The operator may add, remove or change that access at any time.

Authenticated daily results may contribute to a Discord-server group summary and streak. Archive and private-random results do not alter the daily group streak.

Coinle is not an authentication, attribution, appraisal, valuation, investment or professional numismatic service. Do not rely on its answers, dates, descriptions or images when buying, selling, insuring or authenticating an object.

4. Discord permissions and privacy

Coinle uses limited Discord permissions to identify the player and, where enabled, confirm membership of the configured server. How Coinle handles information is described in the Coinle Privacy Policy. You may stop using the service at any time by closing the Activity.

5. Catalogue data, images and third parties

Coin information and images are obtained from or linked to Numista and may include material credited to other photographers, auction houses or rights holders. The relevant owners retain their rights. Numista N# identifiers and source credits are displayed where applicable. Coinle does not grant you permission to reuse third-party catalogue data or images outside the game.

The optional suggestions offered under the authority, country and denomination fields come from a local snapshot built from open data: authority and denomination records from Nomisma, used under CC BY 3.0, and labels and alternative names from Wikidata, released under CC0 1.0, with thanks to both projects. No Numista data is used for the suggestions, and typing in those fields sends no request to any of these services.

Discord, Numista and Vercel are independent third-party services with their own terms and policies. Coinle is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Numista. Those services are not responsible for Coinle, and the Coinle operator is not responsible for third-party websites or services.

6. Coinle materials

The Coinle name, interface, game presentation and original software remain the property of their respective owner. Except where a separate licence expressly permits otherwise, these terms give you only a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use Coinle for its intended private purpose.

7. Availability and changes

Coinle is supplied on an as available basis. A coin, image, clue or external link may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed or unavailable. Coin selection depends on third-party services, and a fallback specimen may be shown when a live request fails. The operator may change, suspend or discontinue any part of Coinle without notice and does not promise uninterrupted availability.

8. Disclaimer and liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Coinle is provided without warranties or guarantees beyond those that cannot lawfully be excluded. The Coinle operator is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss arising from a third-party service, or decisions made in reliance on game content.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Nothing in these terms affects mandatory consumer rights.

9. Suspension and termination

The operator may restrict or end access where reasonably necessary to protect Coinle or another service, enforce these terms, respond to abuse, or comply with law. When your access ends, your right to use Coinle ends immediately. Provisions concerning third-party rights, disclaimers and liability continue where relevant.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without removing any mandatory protections available to consumers under the law of their home country. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law permits proceedings elsewhere.

11. Changes and contact

The operator may update these terms to reflect changes to Coinle, its providers or legal requirements. The current terms and revision date will remain available at this URL. Questions or support requests should be sent privately to the Coinle operator or an administrator of the Discord server in which Coinle is installed.
